Alice (acrylic on canvas)   /   2021 - SOLD
Alice was commissioned by a client who loves Margaret Keane's big-eye paintings from the 1970s.

This work is a play off of Alice in Wonderland.
pen's goal was to change the idea that Alice had long, blond hair. By giving Alice shorter, darker hair, it opens it up so that any girl could see herself as Alice.

As an artist with a diverse background in painting, murals, graphic design, website design, photography, and media arts, I am passionate about making art accessible to all. My experience includes internships with organizations such as the Connecticut Old State House, SelinsgroveSTART, and the Office of the Connecticut Secretary of State, and I very much enjoying doing work where art and graphic design are main components.

Currently, I am pursuing a Bachelor's degree, double majoring in Studio Arts and Italian Studies at Trinity College. I also actively volunteer with organizations such as The Bushnell and Out Film CT. I am also a proud member of the Cleo of Alpha Chi co-ed fraternity/literary society.

I believe art should be inclusive, accessible, and educational. Inspired by Hartford's thriving art scene—where public art enriches the community—I strive to create work that engages people. A project I’m particularly proud of is The Southern Ocean mural (2021), which incorporates Morse code to encourage children to explore and learn about aquatic life, blending art and education in an interactive way.

If you’d like to discuss potential collaborations or share ideas, feel free to email me at [email protected].

I look forward to connecting!
